I probably shouldn’t have even warned them. I should have just rounded them all up, herded them out to the van, and headed on down “to the city” for our family’s first Apple Store experience.
I think a few of them thought we were going to be “discovered”, that this would perhaps be just a stepping stone to our family’s “becoming famous”. You know, like getting our own TV show “like the Duggars!”
I kept thinking, “Oh, dear, I sure hope not…” and then, “Well, if there were cameras rolling around here regularly, I’d probably be more motivated to stay on top of the cleaning that hasn’t been getting done…” ahem.
No, we have not been discovered, and we will not be starring in anything other than the occasional home movie (*mental note* – take more home video!)
But, we did get some local news coverage 🙂

Many, MANY, heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed towards by friend Shannon’s facebook fundraising campaign to get Ian an iPad! We are all so excited for him (and I may be a tad bit jealous :)). Yes, it’s an incredibly cool toy, but for Ian, with the incredible apps that are out there, it’s so much more than a toy! It’s a tool that will be so useful in Ian’s rehab process, as he continues to deal with the long-lasting effects of Posterior Fossa Syndrome.
Hello,
I saw Ian’s story on Channel 11 the other night and I was very touched by his bravery. I would like to send Ian a card and a donation. Could you send me your address so that I can do that? I live nearby in Stacy. I left two messages on the Facebook page but I did not get a response.
Thank you, Janette Hansen
I replied on facebook just an hour or so ago!
Thanks again for thinking of him! Community support (both local & online worldwide!) has been so incredible, thank you for being part of that blessing!
How amazing people are! Ian I am so glad you have this ipad. Praying and praying for you. 🙂
Blessings,
